Sulby Walks
Tholt y Will
This walk is through probably the prettiest glen on the Isle of Man, and goes along the wild and beautiful Sulby River and Sulby Reservoir, with views of Snaefell adjacent to the glen.
It is in a beautiful inland area where hills, glen, pine forest, lake and tumbling river all feature. Starting from the car park by the side of the Sulby Reservoir, the route begins over the dam and into a wooded area.
The path descends running close to the Sulby River which, at this stage, is a crystal clear bubbling stream, before steadily rising up the glen.

Central North Summit and Sulby Valley
A big walk through the striking and steep sided Tholt y Will Glen and plantation to take in a single summit, Slieau Managh. Starting from Sulby Claddagh, the walk passes Mount Karrin and offers dramatic views of the Sulby Valley and river below.
Sulby River is the longest river on the Island and during autumn offers walkers the chance to see magnificent waterfalls.
You will join part of the Millennium Way walking route, before the climb onto the slopes of Slieau Managh, translated as ‘Monks Mountain,’ it is well worth the extra steps to reach the huge quartz outcrop Creg Bedn – translated as ‘White Rock’ in Manx Gaelic before returning back down through Ohio Plantation. It is said that Creg Bedn is attributed with healing powers.
